What cind of hermid? Reef safe?

Hi,

I've bought some hermids of the species Clibanarius sp.
They were labeled as mixed Clibanarius sp hermid crabs.
They are black with white stripes.
Are these reef safe?
They are less than 1 inch.

I've got a pair of those. They came in with an order of blue leg hermits and my LFS didn't know what they were either, so I took a flyer on them. They seem to be happy cruising around with the other hermits. So I don't know what they are - but they appear to be reef safe (I've had them about a month now).

Is that a little nem on that shell?

That's a manjano I just found out.
Luckely it willingly let go of the shell.
So it seems the hermids are reef safe..
There is one red one too is see.
Dumped them in the sump for now.

Clibanarius virescens. An intertidal species native to the Indo Pacific. Some have solid, light dactyl coloration while others have the banded tips like yours. Leg span can reach up to 1 1/2". Reef safe with caution (as with all hermits)
