What clean up crew for barebottom SPS tank?

Hey all, finally got my fish transferred over to my reefer 250 this past weekend and now after the tank gets a little dirty in the next couple weeks I need to get a clean up crew going.

So, what does everyone have as a cleanup crew in their barebottom tanks??

I was thinking an emerald crab, skunk cleaner shrimp, some bumble bee snails, a few blue and red leg hermits, and a couple turbo snails. Would this work good? I’m going SPS only tank, I’ll have a tomini tank to help combat algae but my other fish will be useless as far as cleanup is concerned lol.

Any advice would be great, I don’t have much knowledge on a solid clean up crew and is something I’ve probably always struggled with having in my nano.

Those bumble bee snails might eventually go after you turbo snails. I personally like this Acro crabs too lol.... good luck!

Mexican Turbo Snail, Astraea Snails, Netrite Snails, Trochus snails, and Zebra turbo snails are what I have in my bare bottom 625. Also have 2 urchins, a tuxedo and a pincushion.

Make sure your rockwork can provide daytime hiding places since there is no sand for them to hide in.

Right now I have one large turbo and 2 tuxedo urchins mowing down my hair algae in my reefer 170. Just have to be careful with turbos because they eat a lot and will starve if there isn't a continuous food supply. I rotate mine back and forth from the sump where there is plenty to eat. I'm also always putting frags back after they get knock off but that because I don't have all of them glued down yet

I just have turbo snails for my barebottom, think I have 4 of them. If not a lot of algae is present I put a sheet of seaweed on my magnetic clip sheet holder thingy, they will devour it.

Those bumble bee snails might eventually go after you turbo snails. I personally like this Acro crabs too lol.... good luck!

My bumble bee snails ate a number of my turbo snails even though there was other food available. I moved them to a tank with only vermetid snails as a food source and they took care of them in short order.

I was just wondering this same thing. I keep a mix of snails and hermits in my other tanks, but I'm planning a barebottom nano SPS tank, so my normal mix of snails is out (I think), since most of them burrow in the sand during the day. To make matters worse, I'm planning a floating reef structure, so my normal hermits are out too, since they won't be able to climb up on the rock.
