What cleaning crew should I put in my sump?

I setup my sump 3 months ago, this is my first sump after being in reefing for a very long time. My sump is a DIY sump
Do I put anything in there to clean the sump?
I do not have a light over the sump yet, to I need a light?

I would recommended getting a light to help grow the algae. I would leave the light on all day or when the DT light is off. It helps keep the ph stable. I wouldn't put anything in your sump until algae starts to grow. You could put some type of substrate and rock in there for algae to grow on. They make this mud stuff that is made for sumps that works well. I have a sea urchin and a hermit crab in my sump. Some people do really cool stuff with there sumps like putting mantis shrimp in them.

It depends what's in your sump that you want cleaned. Like is it algae? Or just gunk?

General cleaning of gunk

I've got an Emerald crab, a Nudibranch, two mini stars, a bunch of Amphipods and Copepods. But I've got a lot macro growing and gunk. They've been happy there for a bit. The emerald molted a couple of times and seems to grow. I need to get a few more Nudibranchs.
