What clogs the calcium reactor needle valve?

Is the debris from the media cause the clogs? Or is it precipitation of some sort?

Could be either but I think it is more often the calcified precipitation

Mine has clogged from tiny bits of non dissolved sediment released as the media breaks down. I haven’t seen precipitation in the effluent line, sometimes a little bit externally where it meets saltwater if I have the end submerged.
