Nice green paly's! Love themI also set mine to be only slightly more blue than white. I prefer a more natural look with the lighting as well as with the tank.![]()
Went to a few local LFS and all the lights were blue - nothing white, or any other color - it's how they get the colors to pop and get people to buy the corals I guess. You're probably going to see 95% higher blues.
I liked mine with just a hint of blue. Not the over the top blues you see.
So many corals will look weird under dominant blue.
Yes, those palys are nice and vibrant. They look chocolate brown in the shadows and they will take over if not kept in check! I periodically pull some of them out (and I make sure that my carbon is freshly changed when I do that).Nice green paly's! Love them
From what I have gathered, successful reef tanks run blue in the morning, more blue-daylight in the afternoon then back to blue at night. I have a 6 bulb t5 run one channel ATI blue+ in the morning, channel 2 one blue+, one coral+ 2 true atintic. Every few days run all 6 from 1pm to 5 pmWent to a few local LFS and all the lights were blue - nothing white, or any other color - it's how they get the colors to pop and get people to buy the corals I guess.
Corals can't live on entirely blue spectrum alone - yes?
I have them on a lone rock, there not old enough to be an issue yet.Yes, those palys are nice and vibrant. They look chocolate brown in the shadows and they will take over if not kept in check! I periodically pull some of them out (and I make sure that my carbon is freshly changed when I do that).
Ha ha, well keep an eye on them because they will quietly do their thing and pretty soon you will have a tank full of em!I have them on a lone rock, there not old enough to be an issue yet.

This is a rhetoric question as many lights are out there and many persons have their favorite schedule.Just curious what 'color' dominant you all have your lights at - ie. mostly all blue dominant, or an equal balance with white etc.
Do you happen to know your PAR readings on your Flex? I"m assuming you're using the stock light?
Interesting - I think this all depends on what 'look' everyone is comfortable with, but must be mindful to do what's best for the corals,I have an ap700 and have been running it full blue but I’m trying to switch it slowly over to the next one up with just a little less blue and more white to make the rest of the tank look more aesthetically pleasing. The corals have just pop so much more in full blues.
Unfortunately not! I've been looking into getting a par meter or renting one to find out. I'd like to test it and know before I go get new lighting(which I would also like to test)Do you happen to know your PAR readings on your Flex? I"m assuming you're using the stock light?
