Just wondering what controller anyone is using for their diy dimmable ldd drivers? I recently had a jarduino setup and I installed one of the ldd drivers wrong and sent 48v to the arduino board and it became toast. A guy in our club has been trying to reload another board without any success and I was wondering what other controllers other hobbiest are using? I have 18 strings of leds with 6 different color combinations. White, royal blue, blue, violet, green, red. Any advise on controller options would be greatly appreciated. while my controller is down I have had to resort back to my old 35-700 drivers of which I dont have enough of them so my tank is running at about 1/2 lighting strength.
thanks
Jeff

I'm using a storm x controller for a couple years now, also have a typhon controller on a smaller tank for about 4 years. Happy with both
The storm x I think will control 16 channels iirc.

I have seen the storm online. Are you able to set it up pretty custom with different intensity levels and different times? Looks as if you have to use the sunrise/set times of the location you put into it and it controls the on and off timing from that. I dont have my lights come on till 3 and off around 11. with the arduino I can increase what ever color I want in 15min increments. I can also slowly increase the intensity overall as my corals get use to the new lights. when you mention channels would that be different pwm signals? I am currently only using 6 pwm outputs for the different colors but have the ldd's piggy backed on the signal wire for different strings of the same colors.
thanks

Yes channels is the number of pwm out puts on the storm x, you can piggyback but can't remember the limit per channel. You can piggy back more per channel on the storm, iirc. I believe it says on the website, the max signal out it can support

I have the storm x:
You can use a geographical setting but you can also set it manually.
My lights come on 1 to 11p. The ramping is a smooth ramp over the set time period, up to 120minute ramp up/down, iirc. You can set a delay (up to98min) to have your blues come on then whites, then uv or however you have the strings setup.
You set pwm day =max intensity per channel, pwm night=min intensity and it ramps up over the set ramp/delay period.
The intensity is 4096 steps from 0 to 100%.
Can also control fans, also has temp inputs. I don't use them so you'd have to look on the website for more info to what you can do with that.

Has cloud/lightning channels, I don't mess with that it just scares the fish.
