Its not pavona, iv had pavona before.. this is in between of sps and lps. Just couldnt find it anywhere. The piece is 7"x 5" big.Look like pavona coral.
Hmm.. can it be Pavona bipartita?Not sure then, pavona is the closest I've found. Could be a montipora or porites. You sure your not talking about leptoseris? Here's a pic of encrusting pavona.![]()

AgreedLighting is probably throwing off good identification. The duster worms makes me think Porites. Another option is Psammacora, but I think Porites is most likely. Maybe post a photo with the whites on would help...

Doesnt have these round polyps, they look like thick hair.Hmm.I would go with Porites first.Then Psammacora.Lastly entrusting Hydnophora.Here is a close up of Porites for you.

Closest to poritesI would say either a Psammocora or maybe even a Leptastrea depending on how thick the “hair” is you are describing.
