What coral or corals have you learned to avoid

Palys, mushrooms, gsp, other lps with long stingers. They all kill or take over everything else eventually.

Blue Clove polyps is about the only coral I'll avoid. Pretty much everything else can be easily managed if you pay attention to it.

Or any other colour of the small polyp cloves. These usually come on other corals, but the blue ones are also sold. I have purple ones over a portion of my live rock that I've been trying to remove for years.

These Palys!!!

Yeah i have those ugly green ones too, im just trying to contain them right now. I wish i never introduced those in my tank.

Yeah, the polyps I have in my tank were labeled as Blue Clove polyps when I purchased them, but there actually more purple than blue. Controlling GSP, Knopia etc is a walk in the park compared to these things. Just an absolute scourge...

Palys and Hollywood stunner chalice. Have had an on going battle through 3 tanks for years to rid myself of some green palys a friend gave me almost 10 years ago. I swear they would grow on a rock outside in the sun :)
Also Hollywood stunner, grow like crazy then kill everything around it.

Pocillopora for me. It spread all over my tank and and is difficult to remove because it grows in thin brittle branches. I will never put it in a tank again.

GSP, Xenia, and Kenya Tree. Took over one of my tanks completely! Also, even though not a coral, hermit crabs.

Add another vote for pocillopora. Now it's everywhere.
I happen to think Pocillopora and stylophora are cool! They grow fast, are easy to frag, and come in some cool colors. They aren’t as vibrant as some of the acros out there but they are easier and cheaper!

Cyphaestrea for me. Look great begin encrusting then die. Tried them high/low every place. No luck. Tired of spending the money.
GSP not so bad on an island. Keep it trimmed when it spreads it’s wings on the sand
