I am looking for ideas/suggestions for the 'sides' of my rockwork towards the back. This rock was picked out of my previous tank and most of what ended up showing was not in contact with the lights, so they are pretty bare/white looking.

Under an AI Prime HD+ mounted cantered over the rockwork. 13.5 gallon tank.

I am thinking about a second BTA for the right side of this first picture [under the right-most clownfish and to the right a little bit further].

Thinking maybe some birdsnest to the right of the candy cane [center of rockwork facing towards viewer]

Not sure about this side, maybe a torch on the bottom left [sand], maybe a monti for the back left [center-ish]

I am thinking of going for an 'acan garden' look for the front of the tank [outermost part of the peninsula]

Eventually i'd like a small clam that I can grow out for my next build, thinking of plcing it on this side [opposite the duncan] or moving the duncan and placing it on the sand on the other side [probably a Derasa with a rock for the footing buried int he sand]

Nice looking tank. The tank looks pretty new. SPS tend to like high flow, lots of light, low but not too low nitrates and phosphates and stable parameters..... ALK, CA and MG. So I don’t know how your tank stacks up on those. A birds nests could be a good choice. They tend to be easy sps and grow fast. I have found that montipora are reasonably forgiving. You might think of getting a stylaphora. They can be quite attractive and are pretty hardy but a bit slow growing. The euphyla ... hammers, frogspawn and octospawn are reasonably easy and they are easy to feed. You might think of a cyphestra sp? They are encrusting and have really nice contrast between the polyps and background. The fleshy acans are nice. You can put em on the sand on a bit of live rock. I smash up pellets, soak the result and feed em via turkey baster.

Thanks for the feedback!

I was looking more specifically for which corals would fit and grow well in which places in the tank. The tank is new but the rock and water came from my >1 year old tank when I broke it down to downsize. The rock was mostly covered in coral and at the base of my rock structure, so it had no coraline/algae growth. On that note, my previous tank had all kinds of coraline on the glass at all times, but grew very slowly on the rocks. I scraped away layers of coraline about every week or two off of the glass =(

Haven't totally dialed in the parameter needs on the new, smaller tank but I will be using kalkwasser as soon as it arrives [USPS sucks, been waiting for 5 days for my Prime delivery]

I'm wanting suggestions mostly for the sides of the rock, being that they won't have direct lighting, and I don't like looking at the bright white underside of my previous structure.

I've also never had any issues in any of my tanks with high nutrients. I've always been running out of nutrients, and needed to dose them. In my 75 gallon I ran an ATS, and at one point a chaeto fuge. Then in my Biocube I did chaeto fuge, and in this EVO I also am running chaeto fuge in chamber 2 with an Amazon grow light. Keeps the nutrients way down, especially with weekly (2.5g)/biweekly (5g) water changes.
