I want to start adding a some corals to my tank. There are soooo many different kinds and they are all so beautiful. At this point, to me anything that is not a rock and will be colorful and grows will work lol. I don't really know where to start, so I'm asking for some advise.

My tank info:
100gallon
Built in the back Bio filter (I added carbon)
ZooMed HO T5 10,000k Ocean Sun and Actinic 420 Coral Sun
Fish: 1 each - Lunar Wrasse, Maroon Clownfish, Yellow Damsel, Black Velvet Damsel
Mushrooms are growing like crazy.
I do have aptaisia to battle with.

I eventually want about 5 to 7 things so I don't have overcrowding and with somewhat easy maintenance.

So what's your input? Looking for names and placement in the tank.

Thanks a bunch!

PS I will also be posting about my 56g

Oh. Maybe this should have been posted somewhere else. I don't know much about the differences . I'm not changing my lighting any time soon, it is what it is. Now you know why I need help deciding...lol I certainly don't want to kill anything.

OK, so say if I did want these sps kind, what would my lighting have to change to?

Well you have several options ... for SPS i would go no less than a 6 lamp t5ho. Personally i use LEDs because they are cheaper (paid 500 for both my units) so your options....LED, T5ho, ,metal halide

Also, how much flow do you have in your tank? SPS require much more, personally i have 75x turnover rate on my 75 gallon.

If you mean having a power head for current, there is one on the end that blows across. I can see light movement across the tank. I can add another one.
If that is not what you mean, then I don't know and have no idea how to get it.

I have 4 powerheads in my tank (maxijet 1200s plus my return pump) I could go with vortechs and cut back to 2 but thats almost a 1000.00 opposed to the 100 i have into these. Increase flow, upgrade lighting among keep a check on tank parameters for your SPS, i am still in the beginning stages of SPS as i have had a ton die out, so this my 2nd attempt. Good luck!
