What Corals would you put in my tank?

This is my first saltwater tank and I have little to no knowledge on most corals. I'm not planning on getting corals right now, I figure the tank is too new. So I'm doing research and looking for opinions. Tank is a Fluval Evo 13.5G and everything is stock on it right now. I'm planning many upgrades in time, but for now I am really wondering what experienced reefers would do with corals in my tank.

I am not experienced by any stretch of the imagination but imo you need to decide what path you wanf to go down soft, lps, sps or mixed... I would start with some zoas, then after a bit, a torch or 2. keep them alive and go from there.

wave maker is on the horizon, I like the Ai Nero3. I'm going to upgrade the light too but I'm researching that too.

I love the Nero 3 myself. Have 2 in my larger 60 and 1 in my 22 gallon cube. Some recommendations for coral since you asked.
‘Duncan’s, grow pretty fast and are hardy. Leather for softy. Micromussa/Acans. Easy SPS like Stylophora, Pocilopora, many varieties of Montipora. Zoas can Be pretty, and depending on variety pretty hardy. Just remember Torches, Frogspawn, Hammers need a modest amount of room. These are my 2 tanks to give you some ideas. Just remember the larger one is 60 gallons

Start with some zoas and leathers! Zoas are beautiful and one of my favorite corals if Im being honest! My first corals. GSP is also a good one too, fast grower. When the tank is more mature rock flower anemones are very pretty and dont need intense care like normal anemones

That's a great aquascape! I would start with some soft corals first as your tank will still cycle. Some mushroom corals would be my suggestion and maybe a kenya tree if you find them appealing.

Your tank is still new, which means that it will go through many cycles. Corals tend to get stressed out during these cycles so choosing ones that are resilient to change will be key to enjoying the first few months of the hobby.

I would start with just a few soft corals at first. If you see some growth (the mushroom corals multiply) and your parameters and equipment upgrades are complete, then you can try something like a hammer coral.

Not necessarily a recommendation (especially for someone new to reefing), but for awhile now I’ve been thinking to setup a nano with an aqua scape similar to yours with acros, and a full-on carpet of different Ricordea Florida color morphs at the bottom, extending to the back wall.

The dichotomy in placement and the high contrast and vibrant colors of both would create a very unique and colorful look to it.
