What could be the issue with acro?

also that big white spot in the middle of the acro is stumping me… that was the only spot there maybe a month ago and then only recently did I see that other white spot on the large branch
I honestly don’t see obvious pest damage in that pic. I’m not saying you have pests. Just what my experience was with parasitic copepods. Interceptor and dr G’s in tank is the only treatment for them.
I can say that my alk swings 1-1.5 dKh daily, my po4 is much higher than what is “preached” here, I have rusty hinges, rarely check my pumps or do icp tests or any test for that matter and…..I have some of the prettiest sps on this forum.

You need the large dog or cat interceptor 23mg

I do an aggressive dose
1 full per 50g every time I add new corals
You use Interceptor every time you add corals? Into the tank? My vet writes the prescription for the original Interceptor made out to coral. The newer version has something else added in it. To this day I get Happy Birthday to Coral from Petmeds or whichever I ordered it from last.

Hahaha
Same here
My dog/cats name is coral

No of course, I just want to be as transparent as possible for the best treatment :) don’t have to tell me twice, I follow your build!

Are you seriously going to dose interceptor just for one frag that's not doing well? Without even getting it under a scope to confirm the presence of bugs?

It'll stress out your whole tank and wipe out any acro crabs and shrimp. Seems like an incredibly bad idea when normal light/flow/stability things haven't been ruled out. If you're desperate to save it, chop it into 2-3 small pieces and put them in different light and flow. Usually by the point you can see damage, it's too late, but this one is on the edge.

nope :) just gonna keep it on hand incase so when i can get my hands on a microscope i can get it started IF there are... im ruling this out as lighting because this frag was light in colour before and all other params are ruled out

Is it getting continuous strong flow in those areas? I’ll take some pics tonight of what direct flow does to some of my acros.

Looks like slight STN. Stressors such as increased temperature either modify the structure of the coral microbial symbiotic community or trigger the production of virulence factors. Temperature stress can increase chances of coral disease development in several ways by creating stress in the coral zooxanthellae and decreasing its resistance to infection
Some possible triggers of infection are:
- Alkalinity spike
- Temperature spike
- Salinity spike
- Low dissolved oxygen
- Poor water quality related with phosphate levels up to 5 ppm
- Change in water flow
- Additions of sand
- Changes in brand of salt
- Bad test kits giving faulty results
- Levels of minor elements such as Iodine, Potassium, Strontium
- Light intensity
- - Changes in water flow
- Addition of new corals
- - Pesticides
I’ve seen you post this list 2x already and notice change in water flow listed 2x is there a reason for this ?

It gets indirect random flow with the mp40 yellow sps setting(whatever its called)

I have a small packed tank (50g) with 2 mp40s on the back facing the front panel. This creates constant flow in the center no matter what settings they are on. Some acros just don’t like being hit constantly from 1 direction.

This WD is on the side but getting pounded. It’s hard to see but all the tissue is gone on the left side and the coral is trying to grow away from the flow

If that’s what it looks like then I don’t think it is :) however! I did find another post in which you replied in, too and they were saying low par and low nutrients causes the powdery skin, my nutrients are N 10 P.06 so I think it may be par

What’s your alk?
Lighting and tank size?
