What could cause salinity too drop ??

Maybe saltwater is splashing out of tank? Maybe leak? Salt creep. Do you do a wet skim? If you empty your skimmer often you would have to replace the saltwater. Splashing water out of the tank mixed with auto top off will lower salinity.
