Noticed tonight a bright pink/redish spawn speck on my rock.

Im so amazed and incredibly happy it could be one of 3 things. I had a pink mushroom, i have a red gonipora and a multi-coloured acan thats predominantly red.

Which corals spawn like this? I've seen mushrooms growing this way, but can goni's and acans grow like this?

Super excited!

I'd think hitchhiker first, and then maybe mushroom if that's what your first pic is. But, really need a better shot under white lighting. Right now it's just an orange blur. Is it hard or soft? Does it retract when you poke it? Does it have tentacles?

It looks like an acan to me but I’ve never seen them spawn like that and I have a tankful.

In all honesty it looks like my acan. But miniscule in size. Its attached to the rock and is soft but firmish to touch. No tentacles that i can see but even to me its too small to distinguish properly. It disliked being touched and appeared to retract slightly and so far its the only one i can see but i will keep a look out.

Im super excited

It's hard to tell from the pics but could it just be some type of sponge? You don't seem to have many coral in the tank so I would say a spawn is very, very unlikely. If not a sponge I would say hitchhiker or rogue mushroom. By any chance was your mushroom ever on that rock?
Thanks for the reply, that mushroom wasn't ever on that rock it was in my older tank a long time ago. I haven't added any new coral or livestock in the past few months.

I love learning proper names for corals. I think i might take the wait and see approach at the moment. I will continue to take pictures and update them through here. Short of taking the rock out of the tank i wont get a clearer picture at the moment its about 1ft under water.
