so after realizing the only thing that survives in my tank is wrasses, after a long death count of various other fish, my yellow Corris wrasse decided to decimate my entire CUC. after collecting 20+ snail shells this past water change i need to see what my best options for a clean up crew will be.

as on now i have
5 hermits
4 emerald crabs
a few cerith snails

i need to get the detritus under control.

would a brittle star take advantage of my wrasses and eat one while it is in the sand sleeping because i heard they love detritus.

any recommendations....

Get a rock full of those mini stars my grasses won't touch em and they are too small to eat a wrasse. I have heard of stars eating sleeping fishes.

My Wrasses have left my Trochus snails alone. Rest of my CUC turned out to be very expensive mid afternoon snacks for them.

maybe ill attempt a few but they seem like an expensive "maybe"

Mini brittle stars maybe? I'll do some digging. I'll keep you posted.
i didnt know there was a mini brittle star

$50 for mini brittle stars does not sound so appetizing :\

They are mini brittle stars. They are awesome detrivores as they don't have a planktonic larval stage and can and will reproduce rapidly in your tank. I started mine in a rock in my fuge and a few weeks later I could see them everywhere in my dt. But you only see legs sticking out of your rock. Some see them as a pest but I like them. 50$ for a long term detritus eating, continuously multiplying work force.

No worries! If you can't find some lmk I might be able to ship you a small rock. 30 of these things become 100 fast lol
