So for monster reef tanks that need multiple people to maintain who really gets credit for the tank the owner or the company that does most of the work. Are the successes still the same?

Why does it matter really? My plan is to build a monster tank. It will be cared for by me. If at a point, I need assistance I know companies I can call for maintenance. I still will take pride in having a nice tank should I be managing it day to day, or contracting someone to do so. If others felt differently, I wouldn't waste my time caring about their opinions.

So if two people have a 1,000g tank and one needs a company to help due to time constraints they still are both producing the same thing.

This is how it works at some public aquariums (at least at many aquaiums in Sweden :)).

Someone has the overall responsibility for the tank and writes the routines. Then "the team" does much of the work, like cleaning windows and meassure water parameters. So it's a team work but someone must have the mandate of deciding.

But that doesn't mean that it's only the responsible person that's doing a good job when a tank is doing well. It's also "the team", which interpret the routines and doing much of the work and reacts when something changed. Great manuals are meaningless if no one is following them :)
And the other way around of course. Not easy for a team saving a tank if the one responsible making bad decisions.

How isn’t it the same thing? Two 1,000 gallon tanks. If they’re both flourishing, healthy centerpieces to the house, what’s the difference?

You know them when you see them.

Success on "any" tank is when fish only die of old age. Anything else is a failure.

The way I see it it's like having a great looking pool, why does it look great? Because the pool guy is great, not me I just pay the guy. Pool guy gets all the credit.

So 2 tanks both 1000g one run by owner and maintained by the owner the other paid by owner run by a company. I know who I'd much rather take advice from unless I'm shopping for a company to come babysit mine.
