This morning when checking the tank before heading off to work I saw my flametail blenny with his lower face eaten or ripped off? I don’t know but something did it. He had his entire face last night so this must’ve happened during the night or early this morning.

In the picture you can see his teeth and gums clearly. He is still alive. I saw him moving around in his cave when I got home.

Any ideas what could cause this? Maybe fish aggression??

thank you everyone!

I could see the hawkfish causing this kind of damage. He loves to go after my wrasses but ive never seen visible damage on the wrasses that he chases. The red coris is 1 and a half inches. She and my yellow corris are very small. My ornate would be the biggest of the wrasses at maybe 2 and half inches.
