What do I do for a 150? No power??

So I've been with out power for 2hrs now and haven't been with out it for the last 9yrs??? More than I've been in the hobby? I know it will handle the power outage for a day or so but.... I'm freaked out! Should I go buy a generator or what??

Do you have a power inverter for your car?...Run an extension cord from it to your tank to at least get some water circulating...

Or head to Walmart and get some battery powered air pumps? That's what I did for mine..and 3 of those after 6 hours out was fine...

If it's a while before you can get battery powered pumps, agitate the surface of the water to keep it from being depleted of oxygen.

And just make sure to keep the tanks as stable as possible also...

I always have a power converter in my truck. This just happened about a month ago to us due to a fire in the woods near by, it was enough to run my power heads and also through in some air stones. Was out for around 4hrs and everything was fine. I was on the phone with Home Depot about renting a generator and it came back on.

I just experienced this myself and he freaked me out. After doing some serious thinking I bought a battery backup for my vortech pumps.

Thanks a lot people! It was 4hrs till my power went back on and I killed my phone to keep you guys updated. The fish and everything seem perfect just my frag Duncan fell and doesn't look so good.

One of my 3 tanks have the battery back up (( came in handy when had some electrical work done on that part of the house )), and a "portable" 5,000 continuous watt generator. Haven't had to use the generator since I bought it 2 years ago (( power came back on right when I got home with it )), but it is nice knowing it is there if I need it.
