What do I do with this acan bowerbanki ?

I’m a new reefer and I’ve never had a coral come to me this way. These Acans are just sitting on those things, not frags, don’t know what to call them.

How are they going to grow, there is no more room ? I’m getting ready to put them into my DT and need to know what to do. Do I just leave them where they are and put them on the sand ?

I see frags on frag plugs. If you're planning to mount them to the rock work, cut the plug from the bottom of the skeleton and glue the skeleton directly to the rock. Done. Easy.

Bowers kind of grow like a lobo in that the polyps are larger with a bigger skeleton. You can leave them in the sand or place them on a flatter part of the rock with decent space around it

Okay, so the white, square part is actually part of the coral? And under it is just a regular frag plug ?

I didn’t know and I scraped algae growing on the white part and the acan wasn’t too happy about that….

Yes correct. The White square ish part is the skeleton of the colony before it was fragged.

Yeah that thick white part is skeleton. I wouldn’t scrape it anymore. Eventually the flesh will grow around it as new polyps form
