Still thinking some sort of hair algae. Definitely not cyano though. It defintly doesn't look like gha unless it hast started growing yet. Guessing the tank is still cycling and your running the cycle with lights on?? Maybe a form of cyano?
The tank is almost 2 months old, and has 2 bitty clownfish in it. The algae has been there about 2 weeks. I did get the traditional brown diatoms that came and went.It defintly doesn't look like gha unless it hast started growing yet. Yeah, cyano could be a lot of different colors. Can you take a pic up close? The tank is almost 2 months old, and has 2 bitty clownfish in it. The algae has been there about 2 weeks. I did get the traditional brown diatoms that came and went.
Does cyano come in green? I thought it was a red?
I’m good with this answer. I actually really like the color a lot and don’t mind it. Just wanted to make sure I got in front of it if it was going to be a pest.Just part of "the uglies" give it time.
My diatoms were a brownish green. That look like algea to me, and I agree with you, kinda nice color...
Maybe check phosphate and nitrate and see if they are high.
You could get a microscope and know for sure.
You may give a little more time and if it gets worse it may be time for action.
If you get a cheap microscope you can post pics on R2R and there are some pros that can help.
I will use any excuse to get a new toyI’m currently on the road so here is pictures that my husband took.
I’m going to do a water change tonight after some testing, but a microscope sounds fun. Thanks for the suggestions!
