thanks. i have it shaded and i am going to start feeding it 2x a week.

anyone else?

what ALK are you running? I have noticed these seem to do better at 8.5-9 unlike ULNS sps tanks that run better in the 7.5 range.

Low light and low flow, and I agree with the feeding twice a week. You can try a dip but thats your call, You know whats best for your corals.....good luck

thanks!

i hope shade, food and alk will get it back to health. it looked a little better when i first got it, but it has always been a lil' brown and white in places. all my other chalices are fine.

cal 450-500
alk 7.5 (i am slowly getting this up to 10)
mag 1450-1475

Think you will be fine once the alk comes up, make sure you check your mag also.

I will recommend to just shade it and with low flow. When chalices are unhappy, they don't send out their sweepers. So it's pointless to feed it if it's taking any food. Just pay a close attension. When you see its sweetpers out, then feed it with some nutrition rich food such as mysis shrimp, lobster eggs or LPS pellets.

i use lps pellets. i crush them up into a powder and spread it over the entire chalice. it will then slim up and eat (some of them eyes eat, but there are others that don't or don't eat much).

Same advice as others. Low flow, low light, and let it be. Make sure your Alk and Magensium are where they're supposed to be. Make sure nothing is picking on the coral and that no sand is settling on it. Once you get it in a low flow/low light area, leave it alone, for awhile, to give it time to heal. That's about all you can do, and hope for the best!

Good luck with it! Echinos are usually pretty resilient!

So its been a few days...how are things looking? Getting any better in color?? Let us know how it is going.

it's still eating and the brown tissue seems to be getting more on the whiter side. i still see the green eyes with blue, teal and green skin under royal blue leds.
