Here's my first Monti shelf frag.

It's looked basically like that in the store and in my QT for a few weeks, no movement, no color change, so I've been assuming it's healthy.

Then I saw close-up of montipora on a tidal gardens YouTube video and there were clearly polyps. I've never seen any movement or polyps on my frag. Should I?

I mean It may not be a Montipora but as long as it’s growing, got color, and seems to be doing well in general keep doing what your doing.

You would need a very good close up shot to identify the polyps on most Monti Caps, and they are too small for me to see movement.

They are quite small. When extended you will see them. Do you feed your corals? Small particle foods and a good mix of phytoplankton may help

It is a monti.

Those plating monti polyps are difficult to see. I wouldn’t worry about it. Soon, you may realize you hate the thing cuz it will outpace anything else in the tank.

It's going to shad a rock and starve some hair algae growing in a high light area, so I hope it does grow fast. I'll just learn how to frag when it reaches the glass.

Bought one of these the other day..real nice. Already got alot of use

Just snap them off.
