Hey let's compile a list of what reefers test for. Not specifically what you test for, but test in general.

I test alkalinity regularly, calcium and magnesium every few months, and nitrates just depend on the system, typically once or twice a year at most since I'm usually at undetectable levels. I don't both with ohosphates since hobby grade kits are useless. PH and temp are monitored with a controller.

I test the nitrates and po4 once a month.
I also keep a journal of the tests so I can keep all dosing accurate.

orp (monitor)
temp

rarely test for iodine, srontium, boron

test forhosphates,amonia,nitrites, and nitrates when i suspect a problem.

i wish there was a magic electrode to test for everything in sea water.
that should be my new signature.
