Yellow tang QT timeline

Day 1: Started API general cure soaked in food
Day 10: Copper concentration got to 2.0ppm (copper power w/ Hanna checker)
Day 11: Showed signs of Black Ich
Day 11: FW dip
Day 12: Visible signs of Black Ich completely vanished.
Day 14: Stopped general cure in food
Day 20: Fish appears to be getting skinnier, & scraping gills on PVC no signs of black ich.

Where should I go now? What's next? I'm worried about the scraping and him getting skinnier, but I was wondering if that's an adverse reaction to his time in copper?

Sorry about the troubles. I would guess flukes, but I am horrible at diag. How long did you do the few dip nd did you see anything

Let’s start there and summon @reefsquared

Sounds like you stopped treatment too soon. Go at least 3 days past everything looking clear.
Give it vitamins and also garlic extract to boost immune system

He is still in copper @2.0PPM. I was planning on leaving him there for 14 days and then putting him in a sterile tank.

Copper treats ich but black ich is another type of worm that attaches and feeds off of the fish. You treat the same way for Flukes so Prazipro is the direction you need to go. The FWD was beneficial and effective just like with flukes but will still need to treat.

I would do a 5 minute FW dip

I just did a 5 minute FW dip. I'm going to push him through the 14 days of copper. Then switch over to another tank with Prazi. Wish me luck!

The FW dip seems to have helped with the twitching/scraping on PVC. I didn't see any flukes. So I'm guessing he has some internal worms or something on his gills that are irritating him. I'm going to continue to do FW dips every 48 hours until I get him in Prazi.
