What do we got here? Any ideas would be appreciated

Any clue what these little guys are? They don’t look like aptasia or your normal feather dusters... they have a green ring around their heads that glow. They retract when I touch them and they are in a cluster with some stony body...cane on a live rock I had for a few months now. Pest or good for the tank?

+2 Hydroids. They tend to be a "stage" in the life of most systems. They can become problematic, and will leave hard skeletons behind that can (will) break off under your skin and then fester nicely. You can smear a glob of kalk paste of some superglue gel over them to kill them before they spread.

Welcome to R2R. You will find this is an amazing place to learn and dream big. Placing a glob of 2 part aquarium safe epoxy over hydroids, aptasia or majano anemone kills them and also does a good job at keeping them from popping up in new places in your tank.

As mentioned above....Colonial hydroids, I used to somewhat stress about them, but after seeing them present in my tanks for over a decade, they seem pretty harmless. They can spread a bit with heavy broadcast feeding, but nothing remotely close to that of aiptasia.
