What do yall have in your sumps?

In looking for some good ideas. Temperature probes, ph probes, carbon, gfo, Im looking for something different. Also, do you think its better to have live rock rubble in a fuge, or a wet dry?

Do you have an apex or are the probes by them selves? I want.an apex bu ig it seems confusing.

Other than the usual skimmer, carbon, temp and pH probes I recommend:

- Seachems matrix in a reactor for additional biological. I favor this over any rock in the fuge as the rock will act as a detritus trap if not regularly cleaned.

- ORP probe. It's not an exact science for me nor will i try to pretend I fully understand it, but it's a great trending tool. Anything I do to my tank impacts the ORP. When my carbon is depleted I can see a steady drop in ORP and when I replace it I see a gentle rise. A couple of days after I set it up I had a cfl bulb fall into my sump. I didn't catch it for 8 hours and due to leeching chemicals I lost over 40 sps colonies. I looked at my ORP and saw it plummeted from 430 to 200 in short order when this happened. It kills me to think if I had set up an alert I might have avoided minimized my losses.

- algae scrubber. I run a santa Monica surf2 and love it. I pull out a massive handful almost every 5 to 6 days. I would love to add a second one, but will diy my next one due to cost. I stopped using gfo because of this.

Skimmer, couple pounds of LR rubble, big ball of chaeto, a Reefbreeder's Par38 fuge-light, very small bag of carbon because my maxima and derasa clean up quite a bit since theyre both roughly 4.5", Sicce return, heater, and all the dosing pump and ato tubing that runs into my sump.

My sump has the return pump in the middle section. In the right section is the skimmer a little LR and the tube from my ATO. During the winter months I do add a back up heater too. My fuge is in the left section. Chaeto, LR, powerhead. It's lit with a 9W LED bulb I got off eBay.

My other tank has just a fuge underneath; no baffles. Chaeto, LR, PH, ATO tube and light (CFL bulb). I run it skimmerless.

In the drain section I've got 4 pod condos with LR rubble, center section is skimmer, heaters and temp / ph probe, return section has return pump and GFO canister pump along with ATO sensors.
