What do you add to your RODI water?

I finally broke down and bought a little RODI unit. Tap water was 247 ppm and now it's 2 ppm TDS.
Since the filter removes chlorine but not chloramine I was thinking I should add some Prime to the water before putting it in my tank.
So, my question is....what do YOU add to your RODI water before using it?

Don’t really add anything to my RODI but I do have my top off water going through a Kalkwasser reactor.

You can buy a carbon block filter that removes chloramines if your city water has it.

Only salt and trace elements. I personally refuse, and nor have I recommended /supported the use of dechlor on a saltwater system. Regular carbon block really do nothing substantial on chloramines not mention exhaust quickly. I’ve used Pentek chloramine blocks they filter at a fine micron clogging pretty quickly and they’re expensive. I switch over to catalytic carbon cartridges which are refillable I run 3 in on my system and they don’t clog period lasting a lot longer working way more effectively no slowing water production. Aqua FX chlormaine blasters is your best option and it’s cheaper upfront and ongoing cost wise.

Your best bet is to go onto your city's website and get a copy of the latest water quality report, assuming you are on city water. That will tell you if they are using chloramines. As for your RODI unit, it should be giving you 0 tds after the DI filter. What is the tds after the RO membrane but before the DI filter?

As for Prime, you can use it, it won't hurt anything. I know people that always put a few drops in their water before using it.

I don't add anything except salt and Mg. I have heard that Prime will make the skimmer crazy.....have never tried it though.

Santa Margarita Water District (where I am) uses chloramines which is why I was asking about adding something like Prime.
RE: my tds registering 2 - My flow was too much through my filters. I've since gotten a flow gauge and subsequent runnings are at 1. Before the DI filter they were 6ppm

I don't know which filter you have, but high flow isn't going to really be an issue unless an off brand. I know people that run them above 90psi for better efficiency. The issue is the housing, they are not rated for such high pressures.

If it’s a new ro/di unit then you will have to run some gallons through it before it will finally read 0, mine took about 10 gallons before it started reading 0ppm

I don't add anything other than salt. Wouldn't adding things to it sort of defeat the purpose of having it?
