I know saltwater and metal don't mix, but are there any tricks I'm missing. The hints on the doors to my sump rust and have to be replaced...the mogul sockets on my halides are starting to rust again, my fans on my hood have to be replaced about once every two or three years because of rust. Just wondering if there is something I can be doing to slow this process. I tried painting the hinges and screws last replacement with rust oleum, but I don't think it really slowed it down much. Just wondering what it may be doing to metal I don't see. Any thoughts.

You can use naval jelly to remove the rust, basically rub it on and rub it off. may take some elbow grease and several applications depending on how badly rusted. Second you can try stainless steel hinges and screws, just brush or spray on clear lacquer to complete the deal. Good luck.
