What do you dose, how do you do it and why? Currently I use an Aquamedic Evo 4 and dose ATI essentials after switching from Triton due to availability. I am thinking of eliminating ATI and going back to 10% weekly water changes. I also dose 30ml or so if vinegar by hand daily to lower nitrates. My current nitrate level is about 10 in my 2 year old 90 gallon (100 gallon total water volume) So far both triton and ATI have been ok. I have not seen an improvement of coral growth with either over water changes.

I dose ATI essentials currently, but will reevaluate after they change to the 2 part pro from the 3 part. I do it with Dos pumps and my apex and have been happy with the results. After about 9 months with no significant water changes only my Iodine came back "out of spec" and a few other elements were recommended as of the last ICP test. I also dose nitrates to keep above 2ppm but am adding fish to hopefully remedy that situation!

I manually dose Mn, Mo, Fe, Sr and I. I use my Jebao 4 head to dose Vinegar into my Kalk reactor 1x / day and ATO through my Kalk reactor about 18 times per day (from lights out to a few hours after lights on). With winter, I can dose about 5L / day of ATO through the Kalk reactor in a 180 Gal system. If a little more is needed to maintain level, then a float switch lets more RO water flow directly into sump (by-passing the Kalk reactor).

This maintains my Calcium around 450 ppm (I have a mixed reef with SPS, giant clam and LPS). I have Goniopora (hence iron, Mn, Mo, Sr?) and I have a chaeto fuge (hence the Fe, Mn, I).
