Hey Everyone,

We were developing some standardized instructions for feeding Chalice Corals, and it made me pause and think about what foods everyone uses.

I'm really curious what food you are feeding, how often, etc.

Thanks!

I feed a mix of cyclopeeze/fauna marine ultra chalice & zoa food. I feed about every 3-4 days.

Excellent...Do you use the frozen Cyclopeeze?

Thanks,

Scott

Yes frozen is what I prefer, I have both the frozen and freeze dried. It might just be my perception but the frozen seems to fall on the chalices easier and the freeze dried seems to float away.

I squirt freeze dried cyclopeeze dipped in saltwater and oyster feast.

After the feeder tentacles come out, I place a thawed out musis shrimp on each eye.

Frozen mysis, smallest size I can find, thawed out, then drained off to remove all the unwanted stuff, mixed with amino acids and brightwells phyto. I then turn off all flow and use a pipette to place the mix on each eye...works well but not a big fan of the chalices that don't cast feeder tentacles.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for such great information! It seems that there are definitely some common themes here!

Love the cooperation and sharing...Great job!

Regards,

Scott

Has anyone tried reef roids? I had picked some up from my brother who shut down his tank recently and fed some to my chalices. They seemed to enjoy it but waiting to see any benefits to coloration and growth over time. Anyone else that has used it for a longer stint please feel free to share the benefits if any. Thanks.

I feed the Fauna foods. Some chalices will take down the pellets but some won't. I have to crush it for them. Darn high maintenance chalices.
