hey guys, I have all lps in my 30 gallon. Once or twice a week I will give them some reef chili or rods food. Wondering what you guys use, any products to help color? I think I've read aminos? Let me know, thanks guys! Below is my little acan garden I just started.

I use some phytoplankton, reef chili, and a rotation of Marine Cuisine, Mysis Shrimp, and another frozen (I forget the name). I have a small condiment bottle and I put in some tank water, phyto, reef chili, and the frozen. I let it defrost/mix and then I kill the pumps and target feed about 2x a week. My fish pick up the leftovers.

Fish food and nothing else. I ditched the coral foods years ago. I never saw any increase in coral growth but the pests like aiptasia, hydroids, feather dusters, sponges and Vermited snails would multiply like crazy.

My primary source is the finest fish poop money can buy. On a very rare occasion I'll feed finely powdered flake fish food (using a mortar and pestle)

They also get the super fine stuff that comes out of the frozen foods I feed (mysis, homemade frozen, black worms, etc.)

I've used many coral foods over the years but pOOp is the favorite of all my corals.
Just keep your No3 around 5 or higher and feed your fish quality fish food.

Well then, what do you guys feed your fish? Right now I have new life spectrum, and occasions feed them rods.

Reef Frenzy [emoji38] Nothing else for the last 3yrs. Not one fish loss. Corals thriving. Cleanest frozen food I've ever used with zero waste. I've tried em all over the last 7yrs.

I dont target feed anymore due the high amount of food i add to the system already to keep my eel happy but this 125 gallon reef is 9 months old i dose cal, alk, mag and the red sea color program along with coral vitalizer and coral snow thats it.
It was around 8 months old when this video was made

I'll spot feed on occasion and if I do it's normally a pellet or some frozen fish food.

I have a coral only tank no fish . So I have a little place for my copepods to breed in the corner of my tank. I also feed most shrimp. And I chop up frozen shrimp from the grocery store and spot feed my acans. You do know acans are viscous at night. If you leave them that close together, I'm just saying not telling you what to do.

I don't feed my soft corals anything, I have a mushroom, candy cane, torch, frogspawn, hammer, zoas and a few other, but I feed my fish some cyclops mysis shrimp frozen food... as much as they can eat for about 3-4 minutes a day! *knock on wood* but everything has growth, looks like they are happy and nothing has died yet!

I feed my LPS LRS Reef Frenzy and Fauna Marin LPS Color/Grow Pellets. I swear, something about those pellets makes LPS super puffy the following day and it seems to attribute to accelerated growth/coloration in my observation. I've also noticed my LPS seem to be more vibrant following a dose of Aquavitro Fuel.

I would agree that fish poop works wonders but I get enjoyment from target feeding so I continue to do so. :D

I totally agree !!!
add only a small amount of amino acids and noticed a extroflexion of coral polyps.

I've recently started feeding my LPS LRS Fish Eggs as well. Word of caution, do this only when the lights are out and your fish are asleep. It's the one food I've found that fish go completely nuts over. So they WILL steal as much of it as they can from your coral if you try this while they're out... Haha

So far my Dendros, Acans and Wilsoni all seem to have a killer feeding response to the eggs...

day so much fish poop and night (three times weekly) amino acids

Never could get my fish to take packaged algae. They tend to prefer the fresh stuff grown on the rocks lol. I feed daily, sometimes multiple times a day. NLS pellets, Formula 2 flakes, Frozen Mysis, and BRS Reef Chili. Some of the best tanks I've seen don't use any additives (like aminos, or the wide array of KZ type stuff) or fine particulate coral foods (like reef chili). I must say it's probably not necessary. My nutrient levels are in check though (sometimes low if anything), and I have several bottles of reef chili and amino acids I got for free from a tank teardown I use them. They're certainly not HURTING anything. But I expect that light, and a small amount of NO3 and PO4 are what are feeding the corals mostly
