It’s top dog sellers. Odyssea or whatever other names it uses whenever. Like jeabo jacod does. They are not marked like Odyssea and do not have the same end construction, but they could be. They are from China, I think... not sure... but I think... they do not have china stickers on them like they are supposed to, but they most likely are.
I have some that I use over a fuge and a shallow frag tank. They are fine. They test out to about 250 PAR in a 4 bulb Hydroponics fixture about 8 inches under the tank. I would use them in a heartbeat to light FOWLR, softies, LPS and the easier acropora. I might want the higher powered ATI fixture and some better bulbs for clams and the higher light acros.
If you want nice, good, cheap bulbs, GE 6500K are cheaper than this and high quality.
Come to think of it , that GE would look smokin with a couple b+ and p.I have no issues with the bulbs. They hydroponics fixture that I have them in is not great, but it grows chaeto, dragons breath and dragons tongue out of the tank. They can also grow acro frags at 6 to 8 inches of depth before they go under the 14K or 6500K. I am happy for the cost.
I compare these, and the cheap MH bulbs, to people that are brand snobs with cars. My new Genesis G90 is every bit as good as my previous BMW 750s were.. in some ways way better, and in some ways not so good, but overall, they are nearly identical cars in aggregate... but once some people find out where it was made and how much cheaper it was (not a lot, but still some), the cannot wait to hate on it when they have never gotten into it.
GE makes 6500K, not actnic bulbs. The 6500k would pair well with some actinics. If you are worried about these cheap bulbs providing enough PAR and spectrum, even though there is really no evidence, then the GE 6500k can fill this void being a very nice bulb for output and spectrum... it is just a bit yellow and most people like some actinics to balance it. They are cheap bulbs, but perform like expensive ones.
