I thought I was getting out of the hobby completely but I can't leave it all behind. I want to get a nano but want to find the right one. What are your thoughts on the innovative marine tanks? How are their fixtures for growth with zoas and sps? In your eyes what is the best nano 30g and below? Thanks

Custom King AIO I have two and love them. Or the Deep Blue 30rr frag tank is a nice footprint.

I have an IM Nuvo 8 on my desk that I really like, but I'm going to upgrade the lights. The stock lights are "ok", but you would definitely want better, especially for SPS.

What coral do you have in the tank ? Are you running the stock lights still ?

I just have softies in this tank, wanted low maintenance ;) Wanted some movement, so got a kenya, frogspawn, GSP, some xenia, zoas and shrooms (with a clown pair temporarily). I'm planning on upgrading the lights and revamping it at some point. I didn't put too much into it and it just sits on cruise control. Coralline is taking off and everything is doing well, it's fairly bright, I'm just not sure SPS would do well.

These are the only recent images I have, but you can see it's fairly bright.

The first thing I did was upgrade the media holder to an "In-Tank" version, the factory one pretty much sucks. In-Tank has some cool stuff for the IM tanks. Forgot to answer you in my previous post, yes stock lights (for now) :)

lol thanks Rev, it's the bargain bin coral tank haha. I think almost everything in it was given to me when I purchased stuff for my 57. (which was formerly a 90g) But it's a fun little tank to tinker with. Wasn't trying to hijack the thread though! Just wanted him to see the stock lights on corals, cheap as they may be :)

Nice tank I will Likely be getting a IM nano. Do you get actual growth out of the stock lights ?

Yes, even though it's all softies, that kenya tree was a 1" $5 dollar bargain bin frag and its like the size of a softball fully extended. I think that picture was taken early morning and nothing was really extended. It's only been up for about 6 months, so I guess overall it's a decent stock light, I'd still be hesitant about SPS growth though :)

I will probably only be stocking high end zoas in there.

I think you will be fine with zoas!! Check out the "in-tank" stuff online, can't remember the website off the top of my head, but it has some really cool IM stuff.

Also, not sure which tank size you will end up with, but my stock pump stopped working and I picked up an Eheim 600 and the flow is MUCH better. Stock pump worked great until it died, but I always wanted more flow and this Eheim did the trick.
