I run mine the same as the ocean next to me which is probably 1.0245. What ever my weekly ocean water sample calibrates to on my Hanna salinity meter I match in my tanks and mixes. Accuracy in salinity meters drives me nuts!
Don't get me started on this topic.... I SAID DON"T!

Most places suggests reefs in the range of 1.024-1.026. I used to keep mine at 1.026 for the same reason as you. But I had an issue with evaporation in my salinity calibration solution which caused my salinity to rise up to 1.027. Since that mishap I have lowered my target to 1.025 to give myself more of a buffer in case there are future mistakes.

There's an implication there that sg = 1.025 is somehow better than sg = 1.027. I've never seen any reason to think that, but there's actually pretty little useful data on how "optimal" different salinities are for a reef tank, and fortunately, a fairly wide range seems to work fine.

I run 1.026 -1.029ish. I don’t mind it being a little hyper saline. I don’t intentionally do it but I’ve had good results for years running it that way and I understand some other folks do as well. Fish stores run lower salinity to save on cost and slow proliferation of parasites, though I haven’t specifically done any peer reviewed research on how effective that actually is.

1.020 since I have FOWLRs. Both local LFS keep their fish systems at this salinity as well.

same reason as you gave. I keep mine at 1.023 just in case I'm gone for a week the salinity wont concentrate too much.
