What do you put in your refugiums

I'm currently growing Chaeto, Ulva, Feather Caulerpa and Grape Caulerpa. I expected the Chaeto to dominate, but after being live for a month the Feather Caulerpa and Ulva are out-competing the Chaeto significantly in terms of growth.

The Ulva, in particular, I'm excited about because I can pull it out and feed it to herbivores down the road!

Right now I am growing chaeto. I’m thinking about adding some CUC or a different type of macro. What do you run in your refugiums and why?
mine is baffled with chaeto and dragons breath along with some random rock that is going to eventually go somewhere. I think there is miracle mud down there as well. i have one hermit that was banished to the sump but i am thinking of adding some snails as well

My LFS sells all different types of Macro for $10 a large handful. My fuge/sump is a 90 gallon and has about 150 lbs of live rock and a mix of macro.

I have a tuxedo urchin and a turbo snail in the sump to help clean it clean. They’re actually doing a pretty great job

I have had tons of trouble getting Cheeto to grow. I currently have a mix of dragons breathe and sea lettuce.

I've been running my refugium now for 2 yrs for my 250g. Half my basin is full of Marine Pure blocks and the other half water with sea lettuce. I did my first ICP test last month and my aluminum is 0.116ppm and now i'm reading this can be all due to the marine pure blocks. Is this pretty much a concensus these things cause high aluminum? Why are reef shops still selling these blocks? anyways i plan to remove the blocks and siphon out all the detritus that's living down there but what should i replace the blocks with? Sand or live rock or something? THanks!
