What do you store RO/DI water in?

I would like to hook up my Spectra 90gpd RO/DI unit to a large collecting system for RO/DI water. I'll hook up automatic shut-off to this system as well.

What do people use for RO/DI containers that won't leach chemicals or something into the purified water?

I was going to buy garbage can's, which I think will likely work fine, but I wanted to check to see if someone had another opinion.

I use 40/50 gallon brute cans from Home Depot. Work just fine

In a 30g that is for the ATO on my frag tank, and in a couple 55g drums. Any food safe container should work fine.

Just did some more research, the Brute Rubbermaid garbage cans have an "NSF" stamp, this means they are food grade

How do you wash them out before use?

I got ours at an emergency preparedness store. Rinsed like crazy, boiling water, then rinsed again with rodi water and never had issues after.

*if it was used previously it will take more work to get safe, but I got mine new.

Brute garbage can NSF. I cleaned it with a little vinegar first.

Tractor supply sells large tanks from 30 _ 300 gallons there commercial grade food safe they sell em for farm use to hold chemical and water built to last . but that's if your wanting something large .

23 Gallon Rubbermaid recycling can for ATO, 5G water bottles and blue cube containers for water change storage and a 30G Rubbermaid Roughneck on wheels for water changes.
