JUST PURCHASED (T5HO) 5 ATI BLUE+; 2 ATI BLUE SPECIAL; 1 KZ FIJI PURPLE FOR MY 48" 8X54 CURRENT NOVA EXTREME ON A 75 GAL DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A GOOD BULB COMBO? DO YOU THINK I SHOULD SWITCH THE BULBS SLOWLY ONE BULB AT A TIME FOR A WEEK SO IT DOES NOT BLEACH CORALS OR DO IT OVER 2 OR MAYBE EVEN 3 WEEKS? HAVE STOCK BULBS IN IT NOW BUT THEY ARE NEAR THE END OF THEIR LIFE.
THANKS JASON:tongue:

They are great.. i usually acclimate them about a bulb a week for the whiteer bulbs but the blue + and blue special you can do 1 every 2-3 days.. they should be fine..

Goodluck!!

Turn off the capital lock and do not be so lazy to use the shift key!!!!!!!!!!!! CAPITALS IS SHOUDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ME AND MY WIFE SHARE A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT AND I TYPE IN CAPS AND SHE TYPES NORMAL SO OUR FRIENDS NO WHO IS SPEAKING GUESS ITS JUST FORCE OF HABIT. OH AND THANKS FOR THE BULB HELP:sure:

I think that's an awesome bulb combo... converting from the stock Current bulbs, you are about to double (maybe even triple) the amount of PAR in your aquarium. If it were me, I would change 1 bulb every 5-7 days. 8 Bulbs? Hope you plan to keep SPS! :)

OH I CANT WAIT!! YES 8 BULBS I HAVE SOME SPS BUT MOSTLY CHALICES:tongue:

I would go with a new bulb every 2-3 days. But I think it would be a good idea to shorten your photo period also. I would ramp up the light cycle slowly over 2-3 weeks. Your new bulbs are going to produce so much more par than the stock lights, especially since the bulbs are old. Just take your time and do not rush it.

When I had my 6x39W fixture I would replace a bulb every 4th or 5th day, I think you will be happy with that bulb combo too....I had just about the same same combo when I was using T5's & I thought it looked awesome, only reason I switched to halides is because I'm a sucker for that shimmer!!!

Thanks blurry got the bulbs, putting one in every 5 days looking great so far. I have 2 in place now, already notice a blue color looks great so far but going to have to work on camera skills with all that blue.

i maintain about 35-40 tanks and bulb changing is every day life for me. i swear by this method. change all the bulbs at once and knock the timer back 3 hours. after one week add an hour then the next week add another hour and so forth. never had any color change or bleaching. just a smooth transition

Im with condor on this one..... I'd raise the fixture also, then slowly bring it down lower everyday..

+ 2 with above....I typically replace all of my bulbs on the same day and raise my fixture up about 8" and lower it about an inch per week. I've never had any problems that way. I have a 12 bulb Sfiligoi Stealth and it is quite heavy. I only want to take that thing down once to replace bulbs.

Replacing one bulb at a time will certainly work as well - just another suggestion. If you have a fixture, raising it up will accomplish the same principle. You will be happy with that bulb combo.
