I have a 400 watt Metal halide Garden Light...it grows corals like mad (6700k I believe, but yellow as a lemon)

Im looking for a more appropriate bulb for aesthetics and if it benefits the corals good!

I dont really want to spend 80 on the Hamilton Tech, although I may...I stumbled upon this afterwards for half price on Ebay.

Twin Arc |Dual-Arc| 400 W watt Aquarium Reef 10K / 20K Metal Halide Bulb Mogul on eBay!

If this thing is decent (lasting at least 5 months) I will just get this.

The bulb is for a 250 gallon Preform Pond I am setting up to grow frags out for my display, friends, and craigslist viewers. Any other recommendations are welcome as well. keep in mind i dont really want to spend 80 on a bulb (the whole setup was cheaper than that).

Thanks!!

All metal halides are not created equal :) the twin tube bulb is a great idea but myself involved with MH for a long time I would say get a Ushio 20k great bulb, Marine depot has a great selection, you get what you pay for :)

This is what I am using on mine and I really like to color it puts out. Its a radium 20K.

Radium 20K Single End Bulb - Bulk Reef Supply

Well it is 3 bucks cheaper than the hammy...not much of a savings lol. I will consider them both for sure though. I have a while anyways. Welcoming all other suggestions...

Keep in mind this is for a preform pond of 250gallons...it is roughly 18inches deep.
