I’ve had the reef breeders LED running on this 2 month old tank for only about a week now. Yesterday I noticed some orange spots appearing on the sand and rocks. Today there are noticeably more of these spots, I saw they’ve began to cover the shell. My nitrate and phosphate levels are still 0 due to an extremely low bio load.
They only appear in areas of high light. I don’t have any spots on the under side of rocks or in caves, so I think that definitely narrows it down to algae. I’m brand new to saltwater and expect some stages to come and go, not worried about a little ugly growth at first, but was wondering how common this type is?
