Is this still too much copper to start re introducing rocks/sand/coral?

I’ve been doing water changes for weeks and have run 4 bio filter pads plus two bags of carbon... getting expensive!!

That’s not how copper is measured. You want to view it top down without the cap while holding it slightly above the card. The instructions are on one of the cards.

You dosed copper in your tank???

Long story short 76 days of fallow in the DP didn’t work so I decided to focus on fish and start again. I work away a lot and having others take care of my fish was getting too hard. My DP was already fully functioning and self sustaining...

Fish are now great!! And I’m hoping to get my new Fiji pink + rocks in before another away trip on Saturday.

Hmmm this too down idea... Wish I got that far with the instructions ‍♂️

Anyway. The water test is coming colouring ever so slightly. My gut feeling is - anything is too much. However I’m wishful you might think that it’s fine.

It’s definitely less than 0.25ppm...

What is a bio filter pad? The only types of material that I know if that binds copper is a poly filter. Also cuprisorb and metasorb. Other filter pads will be useless, and carbon may not be particularly useful.

Did you carefully clean the tank? If not calcium carbonate and organic deposits will retain copper.

In terms of copper, I would not be comfortable unless it is below 10 ug/L. That isn’t detectable by kit.

Thanks Randy,

It was a poly filter, I’ve been scrapping the glass with a blade and scrubbing all over. But maybe it’s still not enough.

10ppm - think I’ll just need to be patient and get more of these poly filters in.
