What do you use for cable management?

i have the reefer 750xxl i have a similiar problem but i have lots of equipment on it my concern is the power bricks i have 5 xr30 g4 pros 4 mp40 a reef octopus skimmer a uv sterilizer and a chiller what would be a good resolution really no space at all in the cabinet

I find these hold the power bricks really well

I used these based on another R2R users post. I wish I remembered who it was... I want to give them credit in my build thread.

It's truly unfortunate that cable management doesn't seems to be a concern for manufacturer's of aquarium equipment. I still resent Neptune for dismissing this design need in their products, which all come with a bird's nest of cables that go in, out, through, behind, over, around and under any given system. each come with 30 feet of cable that needs to be both out of the way---and easy to disconnect for service.

I have tried the raceways, the control boards, zip ties, velcro ties, and cable channels. The most elegantly presented cable setups all seems like the most difficult to service.

In my new build, I'm going to take a page out of the Cubic Pulse 80 Jellyfish tank's setup (image below) and compartamentalize each area of the tank (external, dry cabinet, sump, external tank). The idea is to modify the cables with waterproof barrel connectors to ensure that I can easily disconnect/remove equipment without disturbing the entire setup.

I have used HIDEit Power Brick Mounts from Amazon. The are a bit expensive but work well.

Every corner and edge of my stand got a raceway. In strategic spots I cut large holes through the back to send excess cable. I then used mini cable cuffs and labelled each bundle. This way should I need to pull something I can read the label, undo the cuff and pull it. I also made sure to position the tank off the wall several inches. All things we learn from experience.

Wow.... those plastic amazon finger duct wire managers are incredibly expensive. I import the metal ones and distributor cost on those is $18 lol, these things.... maybe $6-8. Going to ask around and if I can find a cheaper i'll toss a link up in the thread here.

I know this thread is older, but it did inspire me to redo my wire management. It is nice to have everything in one location and easy to locate. The velcro ties and the cable track are a huge help.

What is the depth between the opening and the second recessed panel? And are you happy with the depth? I'm looking to do a similar slim design, but it's going to be accessed from the side of the tank stand.

If you're talking about the recessed panel where the controllers are the depths is 1.25". The Vortech controllers are a little deeper but I got them in with out issue.

The depth from the frame to the panels that holds the gear is also 1.25". It could be deeper but I didn't have the space because of the door into the office. There are three total panels that hold the gear that can be removed or reconfigured.

The entire front panel is 3.75" deep and held on by metal clips from Home Depot. It can be removed and moved to the side for complete access to everything.

I hope that helps.

Yes, that helps thanks. I want to do a 6 inch recessed cabinet but wasn't sure if I needed to go deeper.

I like that Delamu product has enough space for two HDMIs, and another cable of my choice. With a width of almost an inch and a height of 1.4cm, this molding frees my wires from congestion. Also, one length is sufficient to carry all my entertainment set’s cords.
