I have an SPS dominate tank. My nitrates are near zero. I am considering dosing nitrates. Can anyone tell me what to use?

You're welcome! Here's a link to another conversation in which provides instructions and a link to a calculator for dosing (potassium nitrate result x 0.84 for sodium nitrate)...

Awesome. Thanks again!

a friend in LA (with high end sps) also uses loudwolf... what a name

I have been burning through the LoudWolf Sodium NITRITE.
That is NaNO2

I recently bought Sodium NITRATE food grade much cheaper.
That is NaNO3

The nitrite solution popularly quoted here is 85g per liter.

Do I make the same solution for an equivalent dosing outcome? @Randy Holmes-Farley or others have some conviction on this question? Many thanks, scott

I've used Loudwolf SodiumNITRATE for almost 2 years and love the results.

Why dose nitrite? It’s not very toxic, but I’d prefer to dose nitrate.

I use the knO3 I have on hand from planted tanks.
The only thing that bothers me about kno3 dosing is MOST that use it don't test Potassium.... ok, that and it isn't tested/manufactured for purity.

Why not use the ME Coral already made Nitrates? No guessing or possible polluting your tank with impurities.
Because then you're further elevating your Calcium AND Potassium levels (both present in the ME product). Assuming those elements are already being dosed and are at preferred levels, addition of the ME product would send them higher than desired (this is what happened in my case, switched to Loudwolf sodium nitrate).
