What does a dead anenome smell like

I had a wave maker and a non sticking anenome I put panty hose over my wave maker but the anenome still got caught some how I put it in a bucket it smells fishy I tried to save it but there are guts everywhere I cut it in half

Live nems smell pretty fishy too.. So it was in bad shape and then you cut it in half? That doesn't sound good. Feel free to post pics for a better answer but with "guts everywhere" I don't think I'd put it back in the tank.

I never knew they smelled fishy I just flushed him because he looked pretty bad I’m really upset about it because I got it shipped to me and it was sick and I spent almost 2 weeks waking up throughout the night checking on it because it wouldn’t stick to any rocks but the other one that I got with him shipped to me is completely fine so I think he was sick

All those little black beads are his guts I think he was dead because the whole bucket smelled super fishy
