What does healthy fish poop look like?

No strings unless I feed them Chaeto. Most of the time just a cloud of whiteish dust

The reason I’m asking is when I get a new fish they go in QT with copper. I’ve noticed the first poop or two are hard poops that fall to the bottom then they start pooping dust by the time they go in DT.

My reef lights probably make it look white. Anytime I used filters they turn brown.

Bump are we sure crop dusting poop is healthy for the fish or is it a C-diff or similar sick fish problem?

My parrot fish has started to make firm poops that fall to the bottom. And the water has a lot less particles floating around.

Great article. I didn’t see anything about crop dusting poop. Would that kind of poop be caused by too much slime in the stomach?
