What does my Valentini puffer have?

Fish went through 14 days of copper and 7 day observation (I know, I know, should’ve been longer) Put him in the DT and developed this overnight. Ideas? Looks too small to be Ich. Been having awful luck with new fish lately.

This appears at this time to be lymphocystis which is a condition and not disease. Often its associated with water quality issue as simple as elevated ammonia or nitrate and can be that of water from LFS and not yours. Assure to provide Good water quality monitored by a reliable test kit and feed nutritious food with fats such as LRS nano frenzy and mysis shrimp.

That’s what I was leaning towards as well, but want other options before I put him through the stress of QT again. If it’s in agreement that it is not ich/velvet I don’t think I’m going to QT again

Lymphocystis is more usually seen on the trailing edges of fins, not on the sides of fins. The spots are about the right size for ich, but ich doesn't cluster like that, ich would be more randomly spread out on the fish.

If the spots don't change location or increase in number over the next few days, I would consider that it is Lymphocystis.
