i moved an excess frag into my frag tank and it went from full green to partial green and red...I kinda liked it!! What does that mean?

I know my frag tank was dirtier than my DT and was just LED whereas my DT is LED/T5.

Is it a lighting/placement difference or a nutrient difference? What does more red mean?

Like the skeleton is turning red? Or does it appear red when it's more like a pinkish color?

Yes skeleton/skin was red and polpys green where in my DT it's entirely green. I'll get a pic tonight

Exact same coral! My DT one is fist size now so I had to frag it back -- it's getting huge!

It could represent growth or loss of zooxanthellae. If the rest of it turns pinkish, it's because of parameters.

So is it good or bad sign? Or depends on species?
If the tips stay that color, it's good. If the rest of it turns that color, it's bad. But this coral is very hardy and shouldn't die on you anytime soon.

It definitely is hardy it's never STN'd on me, ever...had it for years now and it takes anything and doesn't die! I think it's the only one that's still with me from years ago during my learning phases.

Just do a quick check of calcium and alkalinity. Make sure CA is above 380 and alk is above 7 and it should look great.

So how can I replicate this color? My main colony is on the sand bed...could it just need more light? Or is it just parameter related?
It could be both.

Here is a pic: You can see one has a really nice red touch, while my main colony is just green...
2nd pic you can see my tiny 0.5" $10 red milliporia I found at the LFS! Very small, but hoping it'll be happy and grow quickly! for $10 was worth it!

I wish I could find millipora for $10!!!

My LFS thinks they are made of gold...
