What does the "average" reef tank look like?

If fed well yes they are fine I have 2 cleaner shrimp in the tank with him

Even though I have a new tank, I consider this below average. Maybe by this time next year it'll be average? I have a lot of work to do.

I'd say my tank is slightly above average. I strive for tanks that I see online which are extraordinary, so I will probably never be more than what I am now. After 2 years, I think I finally have my numbers where my tank is starting to thrive. I've delt with every pest there is, so they still pop up from time to time.

I voted average because there are so many tanks out there that I am jealous. But my tank is just the way I like it. I think the fish like it too especially the manta rays

Some of these people that voted their tanks as average are either delusional or fishing for compliments I would say that mine is average. I think the average tank has everything I have: some nuisance algae that is "controllable", frags that are either growing slowly or failing, some sort of pest whether it be bugs, asterinas or in my case an aptasia or two that pop up now and then, and other random frustrations like microbubbles :mad:. They've also likely given up on some type of coral. For me it's the sticks - other than a garf bonsai that is surviving and even growing despite the odds. But I don't dose. I don't do water changes as often as I should. So knowing that this tank is a hobby and not a 'lifestyle' makes me pretty ok with being average.

Here's my 3 gallon after 8 months. Everything from softies to acros growing. Heavily stocked with clean up crew, 3 sexy shrimp, a Pom Pom crab and my sailfin blenny. Only a powerhead and heater and bare bottom.
