I'm interested in learning how others maintain their tanks. I have a 72G bowfront with sump, skimmer, and 5 stage RODI. I currently do 15g water changes every 2 weeks, lightly suctioning the substrate. Does anyone do water changes through the sump to avoid disturbing their tank? Are there suggested maintenance tasks for the rocks and/or equipment? Thank you.

Light surface siphoning of sand and exchange of water
Clean skimmer neck and cup and change/clean filters

I do AWCs every day with a small manual change weekly (to clean equipment and suck up detritus). Roughly once every couple of months I do the manual water change from the sump just to clean it out. Weekly I clean the skimmer and swap all four wavemakers with either clean parts (WAVs) or by swapping the entire unit (MP40 wetsides). Once a year I clean the rest of the equipment like the return pump, UV, etc.

Always do my WC's through the sump. Once a week I change out 10G in my 80G system.

Once a month I will siphon the sandbed into a filter sock in my sump, clean equipment, and clean the tower style overflow.

Wife cleans the glass daily. I change a bit of water daily. Syphon urchin poo out every 3 or 4 months. Clean pumps, once in a blue moon. Top up kalkwasser container, whenever.

RO membrane change when tds goes above 10ppm, regenerate DI when tds goes above 1ppm. Change RO filters every 6 months or so.

Right now I do a water change about every two weeks. I clean the inside glass every few days and the outside as needed. Skimmer gets a good clean every week or two. When I ran filter socks I changed those every day or two. In the past I did water changes through the sump and felt like that was a great way to do it. My new tank I have been siphoning off the sand a little bit to help remove some waste from inside the tank. My last tank was not easy to access the sand bed (really tall) and this one is much easier to access. That helps alot.
