So I know it’s not about quantity when it comes to tank size. That being said I have a 4 foot 90 gallon that current has
2 ocellaris clownfish
2 Bangaii cardinal
2 yellowtail damsel
1 goldenhead goby
1 coral beauty angel
1 yellow tang
1 Firefish

Any suggestions on anything else I might be able to put in the tank if anything? I thought about a school of Chromis but didn’t know how they would take to the damsels. Hoping my tank isn’t full already but if it is I’ll deal with it.

It honestly depends on your water parameters, how often do you do water changes? If you keep nitrates and phosphates low and keep up on water changes I think you would be fine adding a few more fish. Do you have corals?

It might be difficult due to the damsels, they might get aggressive towards new Additions. Maybe some fairy wrasses? You might be able to do another tang or two, but that yellow tang might get aggressive towards new tangs as well. Anthias would also be a good fit, I’d recommend bartletts or lyretails because they are a little more hardy. 1male and 3 females, or all females to keep aggression down.

Nitrates less than 10 phosphate less than 1. I tend to do biweekly water changes of about 15%.
I have four corals.
Green goniopora
Acropora
Cesputularia
Pom Pom Xenia

Eh I have a little bit of sand. About an inch or so in the front half of the tank bit I keep a fan at the bottom in the back so no sand there

fairy and flasher wrasses don't need sand

add another inch or so and the sand burying ones are cool, halichoeres being the easiest

Did I make a rookie mistake and not buy more of the same species? As in more than 2 of all the pairs I have? I’m just hoping my tank is almost filled up strictly because of the species. Has anyone had success introducing new fish of the same species later in the tank that is my size?

You could add fish of the same species, as far as damsels, Bangaii’s and firefish. Well maybe be wary of the damsels, if I were to add more of the same species I would add at least 2-3 more, if you try just adding 1 more the originals may gang up on it, but adding a few would help disperse any aggression.

Thanks for the info. Although I’m not sure I’ll be adding anymore Firefish. The one I have I hardly every see because it’s afraid of literally everything in the tank.

Midas blenny would work. But an algae eating type blenny would fit better imo. There’s already lots of open water swimmers. Something that stayed on the bottom / rickeork would give it space

I do like the idea of a blenny. Are there other bottom dwellers that could possibly work as well?

While not a blenny have you looked at gobies? A black or yellow clown goby stays perched on rock work and stays really small.

3 more Bangaiis!!! :)

I have looked at gobies as well I’m just keeping my options open. Like I said I know a 90 gallon can’t keep dozens of fish. But I want it to be more than 11 just so there is more movement in the tank.
