I have a 75 gallon reef tank with a 20 gallon refugium.
I currently have a yellow Tang (I know), 2 clown fish, a pair of fire fish, and a fairy wrasse. I'm wanting a diamond back goby and maybe a flaming angle. Or would that be too much?
My clowns have been in the tank for 5 weeks and mostly stay behind the overflow box . Maybe a royal gourami? Any help would be great.

The plan was just get corals from here on out. But I find myself looking at my tank and all my fish are in the same area of the tank. Maybe a top swimming fish?

I would say if you have a good nutrient export and filter system and the fish are compatible go for it. I have a 75g as well and plenty more fish. But disclaimer I am a noob, so take it with a grain of salt, it could be just short term success for now. I have a flame angel and love him, he has behaved so far, but be wary, based on what I have read here they are known for nipping at corals. My other very active swimmers are a blue-chromis (not the green one) and a royal gramma.

If you plan on getting coral you would have to be careful with an angel fish. It's hit or miss if they will nip at your soft coral and they are a PITA to get back out of the tank. Royal Grammas are pretty cool and nice pop of color.

I just got 3 scissor tail gobies for my tank. They are rather dull color wise but they are small and shoal together in the mid to upper areas of the tank where I had no movement before. I have more fish than you in my 65gal and have no issues so you should be able to add more

In my 75G i have i think around 11 fish. I have a 25G DT plumbed into the sump with some other fish in there, so just have a good skimmer to keep up with the bio load and you'll be fine.

A diamond goby and/or a flame angel will be fine in your situation. A royal gramma would be fine too.

A couple warnings about the first two:
I estimate that most diamond gobies either starve or jump out.
Any dwarf angel is hit or miss when it comes to corals.

I like the diamond goby, but as stated, they are jumpers. I lost mine that way.

If you want some color, take a look at a flame hawk instead of the angel. They are very entertaining to watch. Mine is everyone's consensus favorite fish. Plus he's a camera hog. I can hardly take a shot without him photobombing it.

The Diamond Watchman Goby may be bullied by the Yellow Tang (when I had my Yellow Tang it wasn't very kind to my DWG). The Flame Angel will likely bully the firefish as they can be on the aggressive side and pick on smaller fish. It's also possible that the YT will take exception to another slender profile fish. As for the Royal Gourami? I assume you mean Royal Gramma Basslet which would be a good addition although it may or may not co-exist with the firefish.

Thanks so much for the reply. I have lots to think about.
